A Tool for Building Trust in Healthcare
By Jake Poore - President and Chief Experience Officer, Integrated Loyalty Systems
In healthcare, the way we make people feel is as critical as the treatments we provide. The Human + Business + Human™ (HBH) tool brings a deeper level of connection to care, transforming interactions from routine clinical exchanges into experiences that are memorable, meaningful, and rich with “color.” Much like dining at a fine restaurant where you remember the warmth and attentiveness of service long after forgetting the exact meal, HBH turns ordinary care into exceptional experiences that patients remember not just for clinical precision, but for the way they were valued, seen, and heard. This article explores how HBH can build trust, minimize patient anxiety, and create what Florence Nightingale identified as essential to care: reducing the fear, uncertainty, and apprehension that can harm as much as physical ailments.
The HBH tool calls on healthcare teams to start with a human connection, conduct necessary business in clear, compassionate terms, and end on a human note, echoing the warmth of a meaningful exchange. This approach not only cultivates trust and connection but also builds a culture where excellence and compassion are inseparable, moving interactions from “black-and-white” processes to vibrant “Technicolor” care. By creating supportive, respectful environments among staff, we reinforce that patient experience is an “inside job”—patients will ultimately feel the warmth and respect that team members extend to each other. In striving for “always” in these practices, healthcare teams foster a patient-centered culture that brings out the best in everyone, one interaction at a timThe credit earned from the Quick CreditTM test accompanying this article may be applied to the AHRA operations management (OM) domain.

Protocol Management in the Cloud
By Timothy Szczykutowicz, Rachel Bladorn, Carrie Bartels, Kelsey Schluter, Amanda Ciano, and Yaxi Shen.
• Cloud-based protocol managers allow clinical teams to automatically import, export, remotely edit, create libraries, and distribute protocols.
• Time spent travelling between scanner sites, as well as using clinical scanning time to perform CT protocol maintenance, is mitigated when a cloud-based protocol management system is used.
• Obtaining uniformity in image quality via programming uniformity and checking for undesired changes and errors is easier with a cloud-based protocol management system.

The presentation will cover the features and uses of two different Bracco products that each provide unique value to their areas of imaging. Vueway® (gadopiclenol) is the first true high-relaxivity macrocyclic GBCA approved for use in the U.S., at a low Gd dose of 0.05 mmol/kg. Varibar® (barium sulfate 40% w/v) is a suite of 5 related barium preparations specifically designed and approved for use in the modified barium swallow (MBS) examination – the only such barium products available. Varibar was used in the clinical validation of the standardized Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP™©) protocol for evaluating swallowing disorders in adults.

Evolution and Benefits of CCTA
By Allison Lemon, BSRS RT(R)(CT) and Dr. Lynette K. Watts, RT(R)Over the last thirty years, computed tomography (CT) equipment has evolved to improve imaging. Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) procedures are becoming more popular. Recent research studies show the benefits to the patient of this noninvasive procedure. A benefit of CCTA procedures is reducing the amount of contrast medium and radiation dose without affecting the image quality. The type of CT machine used for CCTA procedures is important for image quality. Each brand and type of machine varies in cost depending on the speed and image quality. Each CT manufacturer offers different benefits such as speed (single/multiple heartbeat), pitch, spatial resolution, temporal resolution, and detector type for CCTA procedures. This article presents the findings of a literature review on the evolution of CCTA procedures and the benefits of the types of machines used in healthcare. Most articles were found on jacc.org, mdpi.
com, and nih.gov. The initial search resulted in approximately 20,000 articles. Articles were eliminated based on the years 2018–2023 for a total of 18 articles used in this review. Future research should include a quantitative study comparing a patient’s radiation dose and image quality to the type of CT machine used to perform the CCTA procedure. Studies should be done on persons of various age groups and heart ratesAHRA November/December 2024 Quick Credit
