This dynamic session is for individuals responsible for any portion of the charge capture, coding, documentation, billing, and account follow-up of radiology services. All the 2025 radiology coding updates will be reviewed in detail as well as other key items of concern related to imaging services, including but not limited to, new telemedicine visit codes, MR safety codes, supervision, reimbursement, and audit concerns. Radiology administrators as well as professionals involved in radiology compliance and revenue cycle will gain the information that they need to ensure correct coding and compliance for their organizations. It is recommended that appropriate individuals from Compliance and Finance be invited to ensure consistency and accuracy within the entire organization.

Medical Imaging leaders continue to face shortages in healthcare workers, specifically RTs. While this is not a new challenge, it has worsened in the past few years. Breast imaging plays a crucial role in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, the most common cancer among women globally. Accurate imaging is essential for guiding treatment decisions, monitoring response to therapy, and improving patient outcomes. In this continuing education webinar, Dr. Kara-Lee Pool, will discuss indications for breast MRI, common artifacts and positioning techniques, contrast updates, and the future of breast imaging. Attendees will leave with enhanced knowledge and practical skills to optimize their use of breast MRI for diagnostic accuracy in breast imaging.

Participants will learn about some of the barriers to care that breast imaging centers face on a daily basis. Strategies for increased patient satisfaction and retention will be discussed in detail. Case examples will be provided to exemplify these strategies in practice.

CMS recently instituted a new rule pertaining to “Excessive Radiation Dose or Inadequate Image Quality for Diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) in Adults.” Reviewing the new rule, practitioners have found many ambiguities the interpretations to which can significantly impact its implementation. To help practitioners and implementers of the new rule, the AAPM recently commissioned an intersocietal panel of experienced, practical, and committed experts in CT radiation dose, image quality, and patient care including industry representatives, academics, and clinical practitioners from professional societies. The panel consolidated a list of ambiguities within the current CMS rule and took upon itself to provide educated recommendations for each. This presentation offers a summary of the deliberations of this effort, and puts that into a cohesive strategy (grounded by the consensus statement from a recent Quality Measures Roundtable representing a broad spectrum of stakeholders) by which the quality, safety, and consistency of medical CT imaging can be assured.
