Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) implementation is a challenge that every Radiology Administrator is facing.  Working through the charge capture processes and identifying where gaps currently exist will ensure that plans can be quickly implemented to address these concerns and ensure that the new Jan. 1, 2023 implementation date is successful with no revenue disruption. This esteemed panel of AHRA leaders will share their organization’s experience so that others can benefit from their successes and learnings.  Attendees will have the opportunity to ask their questions so that key challenges can be approached from a new perspective.

This webinar will cover the following objectives:

    1. Identify specific areas of concern for your organization regarding Appropriate Use Criteria - AUC implementation
    2. Provide key information to facilitate discussions with all stakeholders to ensure all critical issues are properly addressed

    3. Design actions that can be taken to facilitate a successful implementation to ensure revenue is not negatively impacted

Imaging leaders forged a career in management. Though we may have the skills, knowledge and abilities, we need constant development. Not all of us have the mentors and coaches to help develop us into the leaders we need/should be. In some cases, imaging leaders are concerned about bringing their challenges and concerns forward for fear of being seen as incompetent. However, indirectly this affects their success as they may lose confidence and faith from their teams.

In other instances, leaders may not have the insights to recognize their own shortcomings and how it affects the team, customers, and the organization. In this session, we will review some of the challenges imaging leaders face and strategies to improve and become a more effective leader in our industry. These strategies will also benefit leaders who coach and mentor others. At the end of this session, participants will also discuss challenges faced during the pandemic crisis and decisions made--good and not so good- and the impact to operations and the team.

    You will learn to:

         • Identify necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities as a radiology leader
         • Understand ambition vs competency
         • Recognize challenges facing the radiology leader
         • Learn from strategies implemented to manage the COVID crisis
         • Apply strategies to be an effective leader

New advances in AI and Spectral CT Imaging are being used to help Radiology departments streamline their workflows and assist an overburdened staff.  We will examine how Spectral CT can reduce the need for recall exams, decrease the volume of contrast needed and limit the need for additional modality imaging.  We will also discuss how to begin a program to introduce AI tooling into the Radiology clinical workspace and how it can assist with streamlining workflows  for the Radiologists.

    You will learn to:
        •  Learn how integrating Artificial Intelligence into the clinical workspace can improve Radiologist efficacy.
        •  Learn how AI can reduce the number of Radiology misses and decrease ED costs.
        •  Learn how modality software tools like Spectral CT can assist with image quality and decrease recall and contrast rates.

In 2020, the "ACR Manual on MR Safety" was published 19 years after the tragic incident which resulted in the death of 6 year-old Michael Colombini. In the preceding years, MR safety-related incidents reported to the FDA increased at a rate approximately 5 times greater than the increase in the number of MR studies performed. The ACR has established "de facto industry standards" through it's guidelines and now their Manual on MR Safety.  In 2014, the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety was established to provide credentialing for "the individuals who are charged with ensuring safety in clinical and research MR suites."  Management of MR safety has been well defined and established.  This presentation will address these standards and practices to ensure the safe execution of MR procedures.

    You will learn to:
        •  Discuss the ACR Manual on MR Safety 2020 and the roles along with the responsibilities
        •  Outline the optimal vision of a functional MR Safety Committee
        •  Distinguish and explain the full responsibilities of a MR Safety Officer
        •  Define ferrous-free MR environments and the process of achieving and monitoring once achieved for both patients and staff
